Ingredients (Serves 6)
- salt to taste
- 2 tsp oil
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 3 green bananas, deskinned,cubed and soaked in cold salty water
- 2 medium potatoes
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 cup crushed coconut
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large onion, finely sliced
- 2 cups tomato sauce/puree
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- Heat oil in a non-stick skillet.
- Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, bananas and saute for about 2-3 minutes.
- Let the bananas go brown on the edges.
- Add the puree ingredients and fresh lemon juice.
- Bring it to a boil. Let it simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes.
- Add coconut and milk. cook for 5 more minutes.
- Serve with rice or indian bread (naan/roti).

Looks nice. It makes me feel hungry. Want to try sometime. BTW, why green banana? I thought green banana would be too raw and a bit sour.

ReplyDeleteYellow banana will be too sweet ... but once cooked green banana tastes really good.
